Even the image on the TV when setting up seems to point to a phone and not a laptop. I gave up after a few more searches and stream from the phone, but I hate the phone screen and the puny limited way to search. The only thing there is, is what you see below. Only problem is that when I go to Chromecast Setup there is no "blue download button" nor "Chromecast app for mac".

Open your Chrome web browser and go to Chromecast Setup, download the Chromecast DMG by clicking the blue Download button and install the Chromecast app for Mac. The instructions on a website "How to set up Chromecast on Mac" tells me to : Want to stream Netflix on the TV from my laptop, (Macbook Air) Bought a Chromecast dongle, and all worked fine until I had to download the app for the laptop.
